Does Carmax buy cars that are pieces of junk?
(2011-01-08 21:50:44) 1. Says: My 1999 Mazda Protege is falling apart and makes noises everywhere. I would feel guilty selling it to someone off the street, plus no one would probably want to buy it anyway after giving it a test drive. Do you think Carmax would let me trade it in?2. Says: Sure they will take it. They won't re-sell it on their lot.They will give you far below market value and send it to auction, where it will sell for 2-3X what you sold it for.3. Says: Sell it off the street. You will be surprise on how many people will be willing to buy it if the price is right. They will fix it and then resale it.4. Says: Of course they'll buy it, but they will only give you auction value for it and possibly take off some from that offer if the vehicle is in terrible shape.5. Says: Take it to the nearest crusher and get scrap price for it.6. Says: Sure, they'll take it in on trade.7.
