Is the place i pour a little bit of fuel into the carburetor the small screen, or the place it goes down hole?
(2011-01-17 15:21:12) 1. Says: In the middle of the carb? I tied to start the car and was pumping the gas pedal and it had not a lot of gas so now im going to put some fuel directly in to the carb not a lot just a quick short pour and there is a small screen and a hole it goes down. This is the 1984 Camaro 2,8 V6 Auto.Is it essential i get it down the hole and not the screen i have the carb cover off? Air filter is clean. Or can it go down both, it will prime it and then run bad and THEN put the rest of the gas in the tank?
This is my first carburated car, how much do i pump the pedal? It ran for a bit this morning and ive been trying to pump the pedal a lot and im adding gas this time. Thanks!
Ran smooth when it did run2. Says: YOU WILL SEE IT IF YOU LOOK AT IT3. Says: Stop pumping the gas.
With a carb you are just supposed to press the accelerator to the floor, one time, and then let it up. That should set the choke, and the car should start.
You pour a small amount of gas, down the carb throat, that is right under the choke plate.4. Says: Down the "hole" in the carb. Can't think of what screen you are talking about. If it cranks for a few seconds and cuts off then it needs a fuel filter or fuel pump or has a rusty gas tank with particles getting into the fuel line. Or carb is bad/needs accelerator pump.5. Says: pour down the hole in the centre if it goes on the vane (screen) no worries
also do-not pump the gas just give a steady press Tag: Is the place i pour a little bit of fuel into the carburetor the small screen, or the place it goes down hole?
