Is there a steering wheel adjustment on a Crown Victoria?

(2011-01-23 15:20:27)
1. Caprice Says: oo crown vic police
The alighment was done(adjusted toe in and out for both tires.. but the steering wheel is pointed at 11 oclock going straight.
Then when i keep the wheel at 12 it veers hard right.
Is there a adjustment in the steering box to get that wheel straight or should i take the steering wheel off the column and re position

thanks
2. mdk68gto, ase certified m tech Says: there is an adjustment that is made while the alignment is done. both of the adjusting collars need to be adjusted to bring it back to straight. i would go back to where the alignment was done and have them correct that. the steering column might be adjustable by pulling the wheel but what go through that. if you have an airbag, that can create a problem.
3. mc Says: The steering wheel should have been center before the alignment, then they should adjust the toe to keep steering wheel straight. It sounds like you need to take it back to the alignment shop. You could have some damaged suspension parts also.
4. rick29148 Says: Nope - The steering wheel should be centered, then secured, then the alignment. That way the car is centered on the steering wheel.
5. mister ss Says: take it back to whoever aligned it and tell them the steering wheel is off center, apparently they didn't lock the steering wheel down when they set the toe-in.
