2. Sports f Says: If your honda keeps needing coolant added, you have a leak. To find the leak, start your car let it warm to operating temp, then turn it off, preasure will then build you should see where the coolant leak is after a few min. of sitting after you trun off the car.
3. Jonathan D Says: The water pump is a possibility because if it is not circulating well the car will overheat. Do you have any white smoke coming out of the exhaust? Check your oil, does it look kind of like a milkshake? Tell them to change your thermostat, it could be stuck closed and the coolant is just boiling away. You may also have a leak somewhere.
4. Michael S Says: You're losing coolant and that means you have a leak. That leak can be external or internal but YOU HAVE A LEAK.

From the sounds of it, it's your head gasket.

P.S. I'd find a different "mechanic".
5. Andy Pandy Says: You cannot get smoke from there do you mean steam?
