Logan P Says: I just got a manual car, and i don't really like the leader boot of the shifter. I want to have it to where i can just see which gear i am putting it in. Because they look so similiar. I need help finding a website to where it'll teach you to take the boot off of it or buy another gear shifter casing thing that doesn't need a leather boot covering.

don r Says: That boot keeps dirt out of the car- and rain and mud and doggy doo. With it off, you'd be looking at the road through a hole in the floor and nothing there will tell you which gear you're in. Leave it and love it.

redruM Says: Normally you pull back the carpet, and there are a few screws holding the bottom of the boot. Then just unscrew the shift knob, and pull the boot off the top.

Hank Scorpio Says: You really shouldn't be looking at the shifter while you're driving to find out what gear you're in you should know by feel alone.

Brandon Says: I'd just leave it on or buy a better looking one it want take more then a week to know the gears by muscle memory if you practicing probable not that long
