1. big poppa Says: I have a 2002 grand prix gt and I wanna add a supercharger what all do I have to do to the car like motor mods?
Anything with the
Computer and would it be smart to buy it from a junkyard
2. Murder Says: You should try and find out if there is an actual Supercharger kit made specifically for car model. There are many companies that do Supercharger kits. Google it.

If there are none, then you could do the custom route. But it's not just about finding a supercharger, you have to get an aftermarket ECU also to control the modified fuelling etc. And then, after doing that, the car has to be tuned on a rolling road machine. So as you can see, it would be quite a bit of work.

But the bottom line with car modifications is this: Money is the only limitation. Anything can be done, literally, if you have the money. It all depends on how much you wanna spend.

In my experience, if you are after more BHP/acceleration etc, then if there isn't a specific kit available for your car, rather than going down the custom route (which brings unforeseen problems) you should just trade your car in/sell it and buy a bigger engine car. Up to you though.
3. Joel Says: Im no expert with super chargers but you'd have to upgrade things to cope with the extra power maybe the brakes, you'd a new ECU probably
but chances are you'll need to get it chipped and re mapped

you could end up spending 3k for a supercharger it would probably be cheaper to drop a bigger engine in and you'll get a load more power

try dropping a V12 in it youll have some power then :D
4. DrkLce Says: If its a mild one you don't have to do much. If your adding a supercharger with a 12pound boost set up. You will need to get the engine rebuilt for strength to cope with the extra added power estimate.
5. Chris Says: Put it in the trunk, sell it and buy a car with a supercharger ready installed.
There are so many modifications and upgrades required, it's not a realstic proposition.
6. bobweb Says: See if there's an original equipment supercharger option for your car. Also, see if a good aftermarket manufacturer of superchargers offers a retrofit for your car.
7. Dave87gn Says: sell it and get one that came supercharged...less hassle

Or get a regal GS. I had one.. and with a few extra buck you could lay down a patch with the front wheels
Great car
