1. suzonka Says: I have a v6 with 66,000 miles and I just started using Quaker state regular oil in the green bottle 5x30 winter or 10x30 summer . when you google this oil you get all kinds of opinions on it and I still don't know if its protecting and keeping the engine clean and on forums it get worse these guys say I use this and I use that and synthetic is all I use however I don't get a straight answer. what do you think I cant see the rockers through the oil fill hole ,on the engine, to see how clean they are al I know its color is amber changing it and dark brown or black when I drain it . and the engine runs fine right now.
2. roger Says: Quaker state is good oil, so go right ahead and keep using it, most oil is very similar, it meets the sae or api requirements this is what is importants. Synthetic oil is not something most passenger cars will ever need. A synthetic oil is the only oil used in all jet engines. It is just now starting to be used in primarily high performance cars like the new corvette and a new porsche. Regular oil works just fine in most stock engines, oil gets dark from heat, this is normal, I keep an eye on how long I can see the lines on my dipstick through the oil. If the lines are not visible, I change my oil. Dark oil that is clear is good, if it is not clear, and you cannot see the lines on the dipstick through the oil, thats when I change it. If your engine is running good, and its not using oil, good keep on doing what you are doing already its working fine.
3. M K Says: Living in Alberta, and working in the oil field industry, I know a number of people that work in the refineries, and they all say the same thing OIL IS OIL. No name and brand name, the only real difference is the amount of detergent they put in them. In my opinion less is more, I don't want the sludge at the bottom of my oil pan to be diluted and running though the rest of the motor. So put what ever you want in you car, as long as you put oil in when needed you should be fine.
4. Rustynail Says: Oil is oil as long as the container has the API seal on the back label your fine. The oil your using is fine, just stay away from synthetic oils. The reason I say the synthetic oils are bad is because they contain very tiny pieces of teflon that are mixed into the oil such as "Slick 50" which will destroy your engine over time. I personally buy the store brand of oil which usually costs $2.00 a bottle verses paying $3.50 or more for a bottle of name brand oil.
5. bandit_60 Says: my honest opinion! i would,nt use that stuff in my lawn mower. your better off to change over to something like vavoline. myself i been using pennzoil for over 25 yrs. and i never had any engine trouble. i pulled the valve pans off my car last yr. and you could read the numbers off the heads.
6. knoff stoessel Says: You got me... Is that what you want? http://inhut.info/247258/oil-filling
7. Texas Wildman Says: you should not worry. as long as it has oil in it. keeping oil changes on time will ensure a clean engine. and also replace your air filter on time.
8. Country Boy Says: Your first answer is dead wrong! Only one or two full synthetic oils have teflon in it. Read the spec. sheets on every one and you'll see there's no teflon in the formulas.

Why would you use Quaker State when there are much better products out there. Havoline, Brad Penn, Rotella, Kendall and Valvoline will keep the motor cleaner and protect frictional surfaces better!

Mobil1, Royal Purple, Redline and Pennzoil Platinum are the best Full synthetic motor oils. When the factory recommended viscosity's are used, frictional surfaces are lubricated faster at engine start-up when the motor is cold. It continues to flow at much lower temperatures than mineral oil. Keep in mind 80% of all engine wear occurs during cold starts.
