Distributor "stator coil" on a 1993 gmc sierra?
(2011-02-16 15:20:28) 1. Says: Well just recently i purchased a custom chip from tbichips.com. It worked fine the first day but then i started to notice that the idle was getting very bad, it was begining to shake everytime the engine did one full turnover (as far as i know). So i contacted Brian and he said that this is quite possibly the "stator coil" in my distributor needing to be replaced.I tried looking for this part but i cant seem to find any place that has them. Is this really a part that is on my 1993 gmc sierra that has a chevy 350 small block? Or would i have some other item?2. Says: The coil they're referring to is the pick-up coil inside the distributor. You need to remove the distributor shaft from the engine. Remove the post that runs through the pick-up coil by taking the gear off the end. Notice how the gear is marked and replace it in the same position. While you have it apart you may as well change the ignition module or at least have it checked. Good luck.3. Says: after working on chevys for 40 yrs ive never heard of a stator coil Tag: Distributor "stator coil" on a 1993 gmc sierra?
