Getting my License; If I'm over 18 do I need to do the Road test? U.S.?

1. Inq Says: So-- if I'm over 18, do I just do the written test or do I have to do both written and road? I live in Virginia and I've heard mixed things about this! and I can't find the answer on the DMV page :(

2. Graham Says: Yes you do have to take a road test. I moved to VA from England about 10 years ago and had to take a road test to get my license, and I was a lot older than 18. However, the road test was a joke .. basically drove around the block, but maybe that was all that was needed for me to show that I knew what I was doing
