Does Australia Post transport over the weekend?

All depends how you send it (eg. Express Post) as to how it is transported.
Australia Post would be permanently paying for a certain amount of mail (by weight) to be sent on the airlines each day so if there is any shortfall on that weight they would top it up with the not so urgent parcels.
If you send something to Perth by Express Post they really have no option but to fly it because of course a truck won't get it there on time but if you send it to Melbourne then a truck may well become an option
