2011 V6 Mustang vs 2002 Camaro SS V8?
(2011-02-19 15:15:09) 1. Says: Okay, here's the deal. I'm 17 and getting a car. I can choose between either of these two cars:- My dad's glossy red 2002 Camaro SS V8, chrome rims, premium sound, leather interior, less than 3K miles, convertible, hardly used at all
- Brand new black 2011 v6 Mustang, under $27,000
The camaro is worth well over the value of a brand new mustang, but I'm not realy good with cars. I guess the main questions here are:
-Between a 2011 Mustang V6 and a 2002 Camaro SS V8, which one would perform the best <<Based on speed, not handling>>?
-Which car looks nicer?
-Are convertibles considered "gay" if driven by a guy?
Aside from those, if anyone would be educated enough to give me an accurate ballpark at the REALISTIC top speed on both cars, I'd be grateful. Not some bs they do in studies, a realistic top speed I could hit at a strip or whatever. Just wondering. All I know about the Camaro is that it's a V8 and has other minor performance work done on it. The mustang is a stock v6. Thanks2. Says: your very luck to have such a sweet choice. Performance wise they are pretty equal with both over 300 hp, not that you'll ever use it...but the Mustang gets 31 mpg, that's something to think about with gas over $3.50 a gallon. Also the Mustang has the more popular styling, but it really comes down to what you like...3. Says: You're kidding, right? I mean, not about being "not really good with cars" , but comparing performance between a V6 and a V8. I've got a V6 Mustang ragtop, and I love it...but I've spent a large portion of the last 37 years on two wheels, so I like the wind in my hair. I didn't get a GT because I like to shove my foot through the firewall occasionally, and I don't need the tickets. Your "Based on speed, not handling" comment is worrisome; speed will get you hurt real bad, if not killed, if you have poor handling. Being 17, you don't need speed. Your old man would be insane (and irresponsible) in giving you a high-performance car. I can do 0-60 in 7 seconds in my 'Stang, but I'm old & my reaction time isn't what it used to be. That's good enough for me. My street racing days are long over with. I also think the Camaro looks bloated, as does the new Challenger; the Mustang has reverted back to it's first generation look. I'm not going into top speed. You're going to kill someone topping it out. Hope it's not a child. Tag: 2011 V6 Mustang vs 2002 Camaro SS V8?
