How much do you think it will cost me to pimp my ride?

1. Questionsand Answers Says: I have a 98 Subaru Impreza Hatchback that I LOVE. The problem is it's getting a little old. I don't want to get rid of it (it was my inheretance from my Grandpa) but I'm a girl and I know nothing about cars.

I'm going to do this in stages I don't know where to start though.

I want to completely restore the car. I know right now I need the breaks completely restored because I've had them replaced over and over again so with that I'm would need to start off completely new. The car runs great though, just some minor things falling apart. The air conditioning unit works fine but the little knob thing that switches the speeds gets stuck.

Then I want to get interior work done. Right now it's just the reg. stock mousy beige fabric interior. I want to make it black. I don't want leather. The dash would have to be redone because it's also that gross beige color and there are some rips and snags, so basically the whole inside.

The windows would have to be retinted or replaced. I don't know how to go about that but I do know that some of the tint is peeling off my windows and it looks gross.

Then there are some minor dints. Very small. Just like someone may have hit their door with the side of my car. There's only like 3-4 of those.

Then the paint. I'm 90% sure I want candy paint. The door handles and mirrors would have to be replaced because they're just like a plastic black or whatever they make those out of.

And the wheels. This is a must because they look like shiz right now. That's the worst part of my car. They're like cracked and broken and some parts and all rusty behind them. Gross. Those have to go.

Then I know I'm going to do the stereo/ radio system last. I just got a new radio put in with new speakers a few years ago. It's falling apart but it's the newest thing so it's the least important right now.

There's extra stuff, like Keyless starting or whatever its called but I think my dad could probably put that in.

I kind of want it to look like I could get it in a car show. It doesn't have to be the most gorgeous thing in the world but I want to do my Grandpa proud with it.

I know it's alot but this car means more to mean than anything I've ever had. Please take the time and help a sista out. I don't know anything about cars and my dad thinks I'm crazy for even thinking this idea up.

Kms Pathinder Says: well take car to a window tint shop yahoo maps can help with that good tint only cost like $150-200 to put on and anywhere from $50-$100 to remove old tint, rims you can get at alot of places if you want factory rims go to dealer or try ebay or craigslist if aftermarket i would recommend a tire store or rim shop interior knob get at a junk yard they will be cheaper and most cars at junkyards were totaled in wrecks but insides are ok and to redo interior in black use yahoo maps to find a fabricator or upholstery shop that will be expensive part this will run you from $1500-$4000 dollars, but if car is worth alot it might be worth doingrims should cost from $100-$500 for factory style and $500-$6000 for after market and as with everything on cars you get what you pay for so spend more for better results and quality
