Are chances good that bar leaks will temporarily repair an upper gasket and water pump drip leak?
(2011-03-06 15:20:53) 1. Says: 1998 LeSabre which Im told are bad for that. $800 estimate to fix both and thats as much as I paid for the car.2. Says: Not likely. It may cause more problems than the original one.
Plugged radiator, cooling ports, heater core....
Gasket leak? It may plug it up for a while.
Water pump? Sorry. Nothing can plug up a water pump seal.
Check the coolant level often.....3. Says: Some body is soaking you on labor if they want to charge 800 dollars to replace a water-neck gasket and water pump. You can get a complete used engine dropped in for less then that in many parts of the country.

Even an intake manifold gasket and water pump should not be that high in repair costs. Try a different mechanic!4. Says: upper gasket? do you mean the head gasket? i,am going to tell you the truth friend. your better off to change the water pump and if they say it,s the head gasket how do you know? is anti-freeze in the the oil and is it blowing white smoke? if you have nothing like that and your anti-freeze is,nt going down then stay away from that stuff. stuff like that is just in case your stranded and need to get back home but in the long run it,s not worth the effort.5. Says: If you use it you can count on replacing the radiator too. But if no money fo fix problem, you decide.6. Says: That stuff will end up eating the water pump. It might work, what do you have to lose? Tag: Are chances good that bar leaks will temporarily repair an upper gasket and water pump drip leak?
