Do you have to remove the brake shoes to replace the bearings on a mark 4 Astra 4 stud no ABS?

1. DAVID Says: no if it is the rear you will have to slacken the hand brake cable at hand brake lever to remove the drum their is four nuts at the back of the back plate next to the rear shocker no need to dismantle the brake shoes as the bearing wil clear the back plate if it has discs remove calliper and disc you will not have to remove the brake pipes
2. JACQUI Says: No.Bearings are in rotor or drum.No need to remove shoes.Brake pads,the rotor has the bearings inside so to get the rotor off you must remove the caliper.
3. TW Says: no, but you might find that with that model that you have to buy the hub, brake drum and bearings as an assembly, crazy I know, but, thats how it is .
