Is it ok to accelerate my honda civic 07 past 3000rpm (does it hurt the car?)?

1. uptempo Says: I notice I always have to accelerate a lot (such as getting on the freeway). But this pushes my 07 honda civic up to 3000rpm sometimes 4000. This doesn't hurt the car right? I am not very familiar with cars...
2. god007md Says: It is actually healthier for you to RARELY bring your car up to within 500rpm of redline than not.

This gives your valves a chance to fully open up clearing out the passageway.
3. Kloosef Says: does your car have a tachometer?

as long as your not red lining the tach, probably somewhere closer to 6 or 7,000 no worries
4. randyrayd Says: It won't hurt your car. I'm assuming you have an automatic and it will shift automatically. Redline is about 7000. You have a tach with the redline indicated. Anything over that is not good.
