Do all parts on volvo s40 2000-2004 fit on all the first gen cars?

Trevor Says: i got a 2000 volvo s40 and i noticed that more peaple seam to have more done to the 2002-2004 modles. i dont understand how they could make parts that only fit a spesific year on the same generation of the car.. can someone plz help me out? thanks trevor
