My permit expired, so what do I do?

My permit expired 3 months ago; when I go in to renew it, do I have to retake the written test and vision test?

Also, do I have to hold this second permit for 6 more months before I can get my license?

First license requirements apply to drivers who have allowed their license to expire for more than six months. So, I would advise you not to wait any longer but go and maybe re-take those vision and knowledge tests, but maybe if it is still earlier than 6 months passed, you won't have to wait those 6 more months?
