(2011-04-02 14:30:13) 1. Says: I think it was a little over a year ago I had a few problems with my 2001 honda accord cost $3000+Today I have tranmission problems which will cost me $3000+
The car has about 150,000 miles. Girl before me traveled a lot and I do somewhat. I have a few more problems with my car, its annoying. I only have $1,400 right now. But my dad will help me pay for fixing the car, but Im just ready to give up.
I won't mind spending $200-300 month on a payment for a new car. So do you think I could do a new car or keep the accord....??2. Says: Your car is 11 years old (the 2012's come out soon). Major transmission repairs are a lot different than the usual maintenance repairs like brake pads & things like that.
The thing I ask myself is: Could I replace it for the same amount? I'm guessing you could so the repairs just don't make sense.
Get a nice new used car. Make arrangements to take it to your mechanic so they can thoroughly check it out before the deal is sealed. That's the best money you'll ever spend.3. Says: I have a 1999 Honda Accord coupe and my transmission is also messing up. I just decided that I am going to use it as a trade in before the piece of S**t decides to give out and Im left with nothing. I honestly dont think it is worth an extra $3000 because it isnt new.4. Says: Any car over 150,000 miles will keep needing more repairs. Get a new one or a 2 year old car with under 25,000 miles. See if you can get a Honda Civic for what you can afford. New cars are safer because they don't break down out in the middle of nowhere.5. Says: When the value of the car is less than or barely more than the value of the car, it's time to move on.
I have a 99 Saturn SL 4-door, and my current repair cut off is about $1200. Tag: Repair my car AGAIN or just sell it, and make a payment & buy a brand new car?
