Civic Shuttered on startup?

1. o Says: I have a D16Y7 powered 96 civic, and yesterday morning when i started it up, it shuttered a lot more than usual, but then after about 10 seconds it stopped. I checked all the fluids and they all checked out, and the engine runs smoothly now. Anyone know what that was?

1. spark plugs
2. hi tension wires
3. ignition coil
4. fuel pump

3. Zufelt Says: That year Civic has OBD-II emissions controls, so if the engine was misfiring that badly, the engine light would have turned on. It was probably just idling very low for a few seconds, and a small 4 cylinder engine will shake a lot under those conditions. If it keeps happening, get it checked by a technician.
