2008 Volkswagen Jetta Oil Problems..........................?

(2011-04-04 14:20:37)
1. Man Says: I bought a brand new Jetta 2.0T in 2008. It uses a ton of oil. I have to add a quarter of oil every 1,000 miles. I talk to the dealership about it and they did a diagnostic and told me that everything was fine. I feel like here is something wrong with it. Has anyone else had a problem like this?
2. Rob Says: that's too much oil usage. if the car is still under warranty the service manager / dealer might be trying to put you off without fixing the problem.
contact VW directly:

3. Top Source Says: Look into Recalls on this issue.

VW's had big probs on it.

Beware sludging the engine.

Document everything.

Have only VW service/repair it.

4. Hank Scorpio Says: Probably a blown turbo seal if you're not seeing smoke from the exhaust. At this point in the cars life I'd gather that would be a manufacturer defect should be warrantied.
