96 Grand-am, wet driver side floor?

(2011-04-07 14:25:06)
1. Kelsey Says: Just wondering what could cause water to gather on the driver side floor under the floor mat. We had no problems over last summer however it seems as soon as winter hit we always have a soaked floor on the driver side. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?

We also have a problem with water gathering under the spare tire in the trunk my husband thinks its a fine idea to just drill a small hole in bottom of the trunk for the water to run out of I don't think thats the best of ideas. What do you think? && Do you know what may be causing this?
Any help is appreciated.
2. Jeff Says: sounds to me that your missing a body plug in both areas.

all car makers have many holes for many reasons and the ones not used have rubber plugs to keep moisture and water out. look under car wear floor mat is and I bet you find a missing plug or other hole made from road debris or prior wreck or curb hopping...

check under spare tire and look with flash light and I bet you find a missing plug in trunk area...or a bad trunk lid weatherstrip...

the only other thing it couldbe but it would be on the right floor board wouldbe a clogged ac drain and the condensation from the ac is backing up into cabin...but since you say left side I think not.
good luck
3. Paul Says: "Condensation" Front is Door Window and/or Windshield Seals (Realign Door, Replace Door & Window Seals, Windshield Reseal with Silicon), Trunk; Drain may help but solution is Realign Trunk and Replace the Seal.
