Why am I getting so much grief about automatic car?
(2011-04-07 14:30:11) 1. Says: I am taking my driving lessons in a automatic car, i already know that I won't be able to drive a manual if I pass my practical test in an automatic car.I just want to know what the disadvantages are. I also realise repairs, gearboxes blah, blah are maybe double the money to fix.I only wanted to learn in an automatic because I need my driving licence quick because I've got babies and public transport isn't good when you have two kids under 5 and, 9 year old that wants after school clubs.Nothing is saying I can't learn in a manual afterwards.what do people think???I have passed my theory and my driving instructor has told me to book my test.should I start taking lessons in a manual or just stick with what I'm doing?2. Says: If you have no intention of driving a car with a manual then why learn how to drive one. It's a complete waste of time. You can live your entire life without ever driving a car with a manual transmission.3. Says: In the made up 'Rules of Life', I firmly believe that every person in the world should know how to do 2 things.
1) CPR.
2) Drive a manual transmission.
That being said, if you live in the USA, nearly 90% of vehicles are automatics, so you don't need to waste your time on a manual if you never intend to drive one.
My wife can't drive a manual, which is why I always get one for my nice car....so she can't drive it :-)4. Says: grief..tell them [whoever the are] to F**King buzz off....are you buying a manual? No? just get you automantic licence,,later on only if you want and after you are a good driver learn the manual...but for now?? F them. Tag: Why am I getting so much grief about automatic car?
