Rough start 2001 buick regal?

2. helpful bob Says: Well yes especially if you can't remember when the last time was that the vehicle had a tune up or it's not had one within the last couple of years.Personally I recommend a basic tune up once a year and that's how often I tune up my vehicles.

Sometimes corroded or rusty connections throughout the battery,alternator, starter,engine block ground posts cause starting issues , also those cables can rot or corrode internally.If someone over hauled cleaned these connections with a wire brush and sandpaper it probably help a lot, plus the battery or alternator could be acting up or weak.Many parts stores will perform a free test of the starting/charging system so maybe you might want to have the battery/starter/alternator tested asap.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it's quite possible that battery is the original battery and may require changing ,I'd recommend a Interstate battery with a good 850 cold cranking amps, also if at all possible have it scanned for any codes.
