What is yellow warning light for?

1. smuggler Says: on my yamaha vity? it looks like a icon of a engine, it usually comes on when I turn the key and then goes off when bike starts. but I just noticed that it stayed on on my ride home today.
2. KLC Says: That is the "check engine light" and it can be indicative of a number of conditions. Ther is possible a defective sensor, low fluids, defective parts or a routine maintenance is needed. See a mechanic and get a diagnostic analysis. The problem should become known by that test.

What it is doing is alerting you to the fact that the machines on board monitoring system, commonly called the computer, has detected one or more sensors have detected an out of range condition. WTF? OK it means take the vehicle to a garage where they will check the computer for a fault code. From there a course of repair can be determined. The short version: Motors broke. Get it fixed.
4. David W Says: It's part of the engine management, and means you need to get the engine checked out.
5. Cleo Says: It's telling the drivers to slow down & that there is going to be a red light.
