It's best to replace it with the tank almost empty. Noone wants to drop a gas tank from under a truck that is full if they can help it. 1 gallon of gas weighs 8 pounds. You probably have a 20 gallon tank or bigger. Do the math. The labor will be around $200 too. Maybe more. But truthfully the fastest way to replace it is to remove the bed of the truck.... You just unplug the lights, disconnect the fuel filler hose from the bed of the truck, And remove 8 bolts or less. Lift the bed off and the fuel pump is right there at the top of the tank.
