What is this noise in the rear; and could it be dangerous?

1. tommaso Says: Hello, I have a 1998 Trans AM. When I accelerate and the wheels are moving, in the rear you can hear a squeak squeak as the wheels turn. If I stop the car, the squeak goes away. It cannot be the shocks, because I replaced those.

What could this squeaking that corresponds with the wheels moving in the rear be? Also could it be dangerous, or not really?
2. D Says: It could be a rear wheel bearing, it could be a brake pad rubbing a little. It's not dangerous, but if it's a wheel bearing, it's going to get a lot worse quickly.
3. Suzie Says: Where did you have those shocks replaced???
I would definitely not bring it back there...Bring it to a dealership and ask THEM to work on it.

Did you look under the car? maybe it isn't the wheels squeaking, maybe it is something else?
