Says: If your camshafts and crankshaft are not synchronized, you will put a valve through the top of the pistons and break the camshaft and ruin your engine. The timing belt is what keeps them synchronized. Anytime it is taken off, make sure that all the camshafts and the crank shaft are synchronized before you put it back on.3. Says: You'd better buy another head-gasket because you'll be doing the job again in six months! Did you have the head checked for flatness and re-machined if necessary at an automotive machine shop? You had better make darn sure the timing belt sprockets are in alignment before you touch the engine off. You'll be buying valves and pistons if you have an interference engine. Your Ford dealer could tell you for sure.4. Says: Oh dear!! you should have set and held the timing sprockets BEFORE removing the camshaft and the head. On no account try to start the car until you have set the valve timing. To do this, do what you should have done before attempting this work and that's buy a manual for your model and read and understand what you need to do when starting the job.
It will also give you the important torque settings for refitting the parts, including the head.5. Says: Not enough info! Need engine type. If overhead cam you need to set the cam and timing again. If you have a distributor and it was pulled it needs to go back in correctly or it wont run!6. Says: I you replaced the head you need need to set the timing.7. Says: if u have ohc yes u should have put it in time b4 u set head on8.
