1. Kellsie Says: It was a moving belt called a what?
2. Nes5y Says: Assembly Line. Each section had it's own zone, every zone doing something different, but each zone never changing what they did.
3. Feral_Timelord Says: A Production Line and it was influenced by people like Frederick W Taylor because he wrote The Scientific Principles of Management. He knew Henry Ford, and they were a group of Quakers. In fact there were a lot of British Quakers that had large factories too and help influence the development of Human Resources or as it was known Personnel Management.
4. KM Says: Henry Ford popularized the assembly line indeed. In response to the tyrant comment, Henry Ford was an anti-semite who did meet with Hitler prior to WWII, but it is crucially important to note that working conditions at Rouge (the large assembly town/plant in Detroit) were no better or worse than conditions elsewhere at the time. In fact, workers at Ford's plants during the Great Depression were proud to be employed by Ford. They wore their Ford Assembler pins to church on Sunday and however they worked, they lived much better than their contemporary factory workers. Henry Ford believed in unity among his workers (though definitely not unions) and built homes, grocery stores, adult education english schools, and elementary and high schools all to educate his employees and their familes to make them more productive in the workplace, as well as assimilate (a more controversial point) the new immigrants he often emplyed more fully into American life. As for whether or not he was "friends" with Hitler, Henry Ford recomissioned his '30's era coupe assembly line to spit out B-17's and B-25's at the unheard-of rate of one per hour all through the war against the NAZI's. Similarly, Charles Lindbergh was an open proponent of the NAZI party prior to WWII, but once war was declared he raised more money with his National War Bond tours than any other single citizen. Let's not forget exactly why our national heroes earned their titles.
5. Chase Says: Assembly Line.

And you might want to talk about how he put thousands of Detroiters to work in his plants. Working long shifts at rapid pace with no breaks or really any recourse for getting hurt. Who would fire men for having grey hair or to make a point. Whose goons would physically harm workers who tried to fight for rights like...getting a raise.

Henry Ford was a tyrant and an anti-semite. Literally. He was friends with Hitler. That's not internet troll baiting, that's fact. Henry Ford was a sonofabitch and shouldn't be idolized just because he made crap cheap for people.
