What's the right psi setting for priming and painting and size of compressor. ?

Says: all spray guns are different and the paint type is needed for the pressure. the compressor size needs to be able to maintain a steady rate of the pressure your spray gun calls for. 75 to 100 gallon tank with a duel lung head maybe best. a water dryer is critical to a quality paint job. a low pressure model (top tank) sprayer is a good choice for limited air capacity painting.2. Says: If your talking about painting a car then bare min for the compressor will be 60 gal, 230 volt ac, 11 cfm @ 90 psi air volumeYou set the tank pressure to around 90-110 psi.
Then you lower your pressure at the tail stock of gun. The amount of pressure needed here depends on gun, paint and how it's mixed
Most will need 30-50 psi at tailstock of gun.
Small compressors gas the pressure but not the volume of air to keep up.
Remember pressure (PSI) and volume (CFM) is two very diff things
Most paint guns will call for a min of 10 cfm or even more.. Also smaller tank sizes just don't hold enough air, and you have to sit there and wait will the compressor plays catch up to re fill tank.
When painting a car with my 60 gal, 11.3 cfm compressor, it has to kick on and re fill 3 times during a full repaint Tag: What's the right psi setting for priming and painting and size of compressor. ?
