My Suburban won't start!!!!! HELP!!!!!?

1. Bobbi Says: when i turn the key, it's completely silent. it turns, but there's no clicking. The air and radio will turn on. I turned off the air, tried again, and still nothing. Does anyone know the problem?? Will jumping the battery work or does this not have anything to do with the battery??

2. helpful bob Says: Try boosting it but let the cables stay on awhile with the boosting vehicle idling for 5 to 10 tens before attempting to boost it.If it starts right up , have the battery and charging/starting system tested many shops or parts stores will test the battery/starter/alternator free of charge.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if the engine is cranking or turning over you shouldn't hear any clicks, plus it maybe turning over but not fast enough and that's why the boost may help, just be sure to have the boosting vehicle follow you to the shop or parts store. Also check the battery posts make sure their clean and tight , also check any belts.

4. james Says: well how can it be completely silent and turn at the same time? if it turns ull hear it whining sound kinda loudish. it dont take much to run ur radio.... u can try jumping it to give it more power to turn over. but i dont understand how u say it turns but no sound? if no sound at all and battery isnt low and the starter isnt cranking when u turn the key then ull most likely need a new starter. they go bad over time. the solenoid isnt sending power to the starter motor to let it turn or do anything when u turn the key.. so basicly u just replace the whole starter. thats wat it sounds like to me.
