Is it possible for my car to be towed from my driveway?

1. xpuser1995 Says: At 4 o'clock I bought a Plymouth Acclaim and I had no possible way to go to dmv since it closed at 4:15. I also can't go saturday or sunday since they are closed and my best bet is to go on monday. The car is insured and the previous owner gave me a bill of sale and the title but I'm worried somebody can tow the car since it has no plates on it. Is it possible? It is parked in front of my driveway too. Thanks for any answers
2. mustangsforever Says: Your title says from your driveway and your question says in front of it. If it's in your driveway (ie private property) it can't be towed as an unregistered vehicle, but if it's on the street, then it is possible, as it's on a public street.

Best thing to do, is if it isn't in the driveway, put it there and then enjoy your holiday!
3. JetDoc Says: If it's parked on a public street, then yes, it could be towed. If it's actually on your private property, in your driveway, then no, there would be no reason to tow the car.

By the way... Monday is probably a holiday at the DMV.
4. Firecracker . Says: That will depend on exactly where it is.
I had a van towed from mine by the police - because it stuck out over the sidewalk.
Totally within your property, they won't.
5. ken k Says: get to local harbor freight and buy big blue tarp/cover car and hold it down with a few bricks or cinder blocks/need a court order to look under it
6. Special Ed Says: No after purchasing a car you have 10days to register it with your state DMV
7. Douche Bag Says: If it's parked in the street, yes. In your driveway, no.
8. Matthew Cream Says: Take 2 of the wheels off...
