Inexpensive fast car?
(2011-04-25 14:30:11) 1. Says: i am looking to purchase a fast car for under $8,000right now I really would like to get a fast car, but i am not too sure what I should get because I do not browse realistic cars very often.
mainly i would like a car with a good 0-60, and can put some work into a car to make it faster, while keeping it in the budget. a sedan of course would be best, just have absolutely no clue if there are any sedans with good 0-60's that i can get in my budget
worst case scenario is that I cannot find a fast car for under $8,000 and opt into buying an early 2000s bmw which wouldn't be too bad2. Says: Why on earth are you looking for a fast car, and then saying "a sedan of course would be best"?!
Depends what you call "a good 0-60" really, are you looking <10 seconds? <8 seconds? <6 seconds? You also haven't mentioned your age, you seem young from your question, in which case you should look first at what you can insure. Sedan's tend to be big, heavy, and handle like a bus with jelly suspension, so not really the ideal car to be looking at for fast and sporty! German cars like the BMW 3 series, or Merc C-Class would probably be your best bet, both can get to 60 in good time without having to have such a large engine option as to be spending your life in a gas station.3.
