How much is 'gas' or petrol in the USA?

Its like £1.37 a litre for petrol here and £1.42 for diesel.

SlightlyDusty Says: I can find it for 3.63 USD here is the Charleston SC area 1 gallon = 3.7854118 liters and 1 US Dollar = 0.604098 Pound Sterling so 2.192876 Pound Sterling per US Gallon and that equals around 58 pence per liter. Terrible that we are complaining isn't it? However, in comparison to last year's prices we are being absolutely scored here. The Libyan War barely impacts the flow of World petrol so the price rises is all a farce anyway. You may want to compare how US tax per each gallon compares with Britain's.

3. Davey Says: As of this morning, CNN stated the AAA (American Auto Association) reports $3.88 a gallon for the national average. And the 36th consecutive day of increase in cost. Range from $4.50 in California to $3.65 in Montana. A gallon is about 3.8 Liters. But I don't know what the value of a dollar is over there. You do the math. I am on mobile web & this phone is not a smart one where I can open more than one window to find out.

That site will show you gas prices across the whole US. Defeating the point of anyone else answering.

UK gallons have 20 ounces per pint instead of 16 so it is $4.71 per imperial gallon.
