1. jimgreg Says: yep get the one for your car i uise used parts all the time. even tires
2. Brad D Says: I hope part of that price is installation labor. Some parts these days are really expensive- even on small "economy" cars. I had to replace a fuel level sender in the tank of an 86 Corolla. Toyota wanted $142 for it. I got a good one from the salvage for $11 and it still works. Fuel pumps are more critical.

Salvage parts are a gamble, but yards often guarantee they work or they'll trade you for another one. That doesn't refund your labor time though. Think about your car and how long you plan to keep it to get your money's worth.
3. don r Says: A used fuel pump,if it's the correct one for your vehicle is a much more economical decision and will probably not cause you any problems,it might not last as long as a new one but will certainly be O.K.
4. Robert S Says: Yes, you can use one. But considering that it may mean the job will need to be done again in six months I am not sure it is worth the gamble.
5. Old Man Dirt Says: if its compatible with your car and its in good condition go for it, Auto wreckers are a good source for cheap parts
6. Sky Line Says: buy one with no miles and a warranty. it will last so much longer.
7. mdk68gto, ase certified m tech Says: have you priced a new one, sounds dear.
