College students:what would you do?

1. txlilchick Says: I am a college student so I don't have that much money. My ac broke in my car. The condenser fan short circuited so I would have to get a PCM computer and a condenser fan. I have a 2000 honda civic. It has 203141 miles on it. If you were put in my position as a college student what would you do? Oh and the cost is about 1300.

2. Ryan Says: Just deal with the problem. You could get a battery operated fan for really cheap. Definitely not worth putting any money in that car. Deal with the problem as long as you can and then buy a decent vehicle.

3. Ashley Says: I am also a totally broke college student, and I am married to boot so we share in the brokeness. Well, we aren't completely broke, but the money we have is for school, etc. Anyway, I would just deal with the problem until I could earn some money to put toward fixing it.

You should also check any local junk yards (if possible) to find the parts cheaper. Sometimes the employees will help you with locating and obtaining the parts, depending on the business. Good luck! Hope it doesn't get too hot while you're deliberating!

4. Peter Says: is the car running fine but the A/C not working if thats the case why would you need a new PCM thats the main computer in the car. If the car is running fine then the PCM doesn't need to be replaced. Who ever is fixing your car seems to want to take advantage of you.

5. Your Fat Mama Says: The AC broke in my car when I was in college. I just lived without it for a couple of years. It kind of sucked at times, but it wasn't really a big deal, and then I got a new car.

soon it'll be time for you to get a new car because some other things might start going wrong.
Air conditioning is something you can live without :)
