1. MATTHEW W Says: Hi all ,I have just had two new tyres fitted to the front of my car mercedes c220 cdi.225/45/17.nankang.last month I had two nixon 245/40/17 on the rear.all similar tread pattens. The reason for changing them all, was tyre wear. After having them balanced and tracked the car now pulls to the left, which didnt do it before,I have changed the two front wheels around and now the car goes to the right.I have noticed that the one wheel has loads of weights on it,can that cause this problem or the tyre. The garage have tracked it up four times on the day and are scraching their heads. I had a word with a friend who has had this problem before and looks as if its the tyre is not quite true. any idea folks.
2. roger Says: I think I would give the manager of the shop the option to test drive it both ways, and see for himself there is a problem, every so often, a tire is difficult to balance, if its not right, and the rim is not bent (they can tell easily, when its spinning on the machine, a bent rim would wobble and they would have said something already) Im thinking I would want another tire, or replace both for customer satisfaction with a different brand, you cannot have the car pull one side or the other with a possible bad tire.
3. Doing the Math Says: Seems like tire pressure is different between them. The garage would have spotted the tire problem, but maybe they did not check air pressure?

One wheel has loads of weights on it. Does not mean anything except that they are cheap tires. But they are balanced.
Take off one of the front and put on the spare(if it is a full sized tire) See how it drives. You are just trying to narrow down the problem to something. Always make sure air pressures are correct before you test it.
4. FREAKBOY Says: This is a problem I have also encountered before. One of the new tyres is out of spec. It is a phenomenon know in the tyre industry, It is NOT a fault of the car. Go to where you bought the tyres and demand to have them both changed. They can get their money back through their warranty. Once you do this the problem will go away for sure.
5. who_is_jack_**** Says: You do realise most performance tyres have a rotational direction stamped onto them and you must NOT swap them from side to side as the direction will be wrong.

Check for the arrows and make sure they are all in the correct direction. They will look like this . . . http://www.mycaterham.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_39305/DIR_116023/rotation1.jpg or similar.
6. Todd Says: Make sure the pressures are right. Have them re-balanced. If there is no vibration, go to another shop and have them check the alignment.
7. Chris Says: Check the tyre pressures in both of the front wheels are the same. If it's lower than the other side it will pull.
8. why? Says: It is either a bad tire or a bad wheel, but most likely just a bad tire.
