Gettinng your car serviced?
(2011-05-14 14:25:11) 1. Says: How much would this cost appox?and would they say this needs doing and bump the price up or is like a flat fee?
thanks x2. Says: It's all different prices for the size of car and the place you go, but as a ballpark figure mine is £150, and they just make sure everything is running right and their are no major problems. You can also have a full and extensive service which is dearer, as with anything you get what you pay for.3. Says: How long is a piece of string?
Yes your car is well overdue for a service. There are probably a good few things that will need attention if it's been two years since the last one. Cars need serviced at least once a year or every 12000 miles, whichever comes first.
Impossible to say how much it costs, you get what you pay for, but I'd bargain on a couple of hundred quid if there's nothing major needs doing, probably more if things like the brakes need replacing.4. Says: All cars need some sort of service as an absolute minimum every 12 months no matter how few miles it has done as there are things which deteriorate with time not miles.
It definitely needs an oil change and filter change
It needs a new air filter
The brake fluid needs to be replaced
Your owners manual/service manual will give a list of what should have been done a year ago.
There is a flat fee for the basic service and then there are add ons for anything over and above that, like the brake fluid change or replacement of any worn out parts like to do with the brakes.
ALSO AT 3 YEARS OLD IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE IT ON ROAD WITHOUT A VALID MOT CERTIFICATE SO IT WILL NEED THAT TOO. Tag: Gettinng your car serviced?
