What's wrong with my chevy cavalier?

(2011-05-17 14:15:12)
1. Amber Says: i have a automatic 2000 chevy cavalier. Lately it keeps jumping or just seems to try to force itself to get its get up and go. I press on the gas but it just whines then it kicks into gear and goes. It only has this problem when its in low gear when I stop or turn. What could be the problem?
2. Jerry M Says: Does it do the same thing in reverse?? If it is strictly a 1st gear issue, it might be something as simple as low fluid. After it revs up a little it gets enough fluid to make it go. If your fluid and/or filter has not been changed in a while, start there. A partially clogged filter will also show the same symptoms.
Auto trans is probably not something you want to tackle on your own....seek professional help
3. LOUIS K Says: yea i would do a filter and oil change on it as soon as i could, sea foam works well to fix sticking valves and would run it in my transmison 15 to thirty minutes before pulling the pan, shifting threw the gears, it saved my transmision,
4. The Fabulous Bean Says: Sounds like a Transmission problem to me! I would take it to an Auto Zone and have them code it. It's free to do that and it can sometimes find the problem. Good luck!
