How to change passenger seat after airbag deployed!?

(2011-05-18 14:20:31) 1. Mich Says: My passenger airbag deployed the other day, I have bought a replacement seat and was wondering if someone could explain how to change it.
Especially so that the car recongises its a new seat and the airbag and service light go off.

If the seat you are removing is electric then you will need to disconnect the battery before removing. Make sure that you record the preset radio stations and that you have the security code for the radio before you disconnect the battery.

If required, disconnect the battery. Make sure you wear hand protection and safety glasses when working around the battery and always disconnect the negative cable first.

Remove the front and rear seat track protectors, if equipped.

Next remove the bolts that retain the seat to the vehicle.

If the seat was electric, carefully lift the seat if you need to gain access to the wiring. Carefully unplug all electrical connectors.

Have an assistant help you remove the car seat through the doorway.

Reconnect wiring.
