pp Says: i just had a new clutch put in my car also a new fly wheel put in too. What should I expect? Does the new clutch and flywheel improve performance that was lost by my old clutch? Will it be a little faster and clean shifts cause its a new? or will it just be the same? please help

chasm Says: The new clutch will create a hard connection between the engine and the powertrain so the performance you lost with the worn clutch will return, and your car will go faster and have more torque under a load. Why are you worried?

going_for_baroque Says: Your car will have better clutch. Period, full stop. Performance depends on the motor, not the clutch. Oh, you might be able to let the clutch out faster, get across the crosswalk faster, but not much else. If you equate "performance" with quarter-mile times, you might trim 1/10 second from your time. But you won't beat faster cars with just a new clutch. BTW, your old clutch may have been slipping a bit, but when the clutch pedal is all the way out, there's a one-to-one relationship between the motor and the transmission. That's all you can ask for from a clutch. Good luck!!

eaglea0504 Says: Depends on the clutch you have installed. The flywheel, lighter than the OEM one, will provide a little more torque. The clutch pressure plate could be stiffer (leg wear) and if not OEM, would provide better grip, and reaction time. You would have to get use to the clutch first to see what you can do, but it could improve your overall reaction timing and provide a little more torque. Also, helps your gas mileage (less slips from not being worn).
