Is the Volvo XC90 or BMW X5 a better car?
(2011-06-08 14:30:43) 1. Says: My neighbors asked me to do some research on it because I'm a car guy and I did but the problem is I am extremely Biased against Volvo because I personally don't think think they are as good as everyone says, especially when pitted up against the Germans. They want one of them for the room (otherwise they would get an X3) and they have two kids (4-5 yr old girl and 7-9 yr old boy) and wanted to get one of them as a nice car to drive sometimes, but still be able to take the family. They have a Chevy pickup and a Ford van they said they will drive all the other times, and just want to get a Volvo/BMW as a nice car to drive every now and then (therefore low mileage, and that's why they say it would be okay to lease it). Wife seems to be confused/clueless but more onto Volvo while the husband is a little more solid on BMW.
Husband wants BMW because he likes them and likes ours, wife seems to not want one because she hates how people in our area flash around there BMW (majority of them), Mercedes, etc keys, BUT she says she also doesn't want to drive up to the school with her kids/ there friends house in a van.
I personally like BMW better but i'm biased, so what do you think they should buy/lease?2. Says: If its a new car easily the BMW. It is better value because the volvo is overpriced for the higher end model. For a used car go with the volvo they dont retain their value very well so you could get one for a decent price. Also look at the Acura MDX i highly recomend it, it drives great and is the best value in its class used or new.
EDIT: if its new lease if its used buy3. Says: As I know such a car cost a lot to insure. Check your insurance quotes for these cars before buing one - carquotes.fateback.com4. Says: I am a 36 year old man and I own a 2007 Volvo XC90 and I couldn't be more satisfied. I have two ten year old twin boys and they love the car because of the room and they like they way it looks. It is just a great car overall. I already put 45k miles on it in the last three years with no problems. Everything in the cabin is made with true Swedish quality. If they get one they will end up driving it all the time because they will fall in love with it. But if they don't plan on driving it very much then Lease would be more practical.
