1. Shane Says: can you use copper for basae gasket or paper and its a 125sym husky motobike
2. beenthere Says: Just to clear up a few things as it seems to be getting confusion, so in order of taking thinks apart on a four stroke like your's
1, rocker cover gasket, sometimes rubber, sometimes paper or card, can usually be replaced by silicone.
2, cylinder head gasket, combination of paper with a metal ring around the cylinder, might have "O" rings for the oil ways as well, this cannot be bodged, you need a new gasket, copper wont compress enough to seal the cylinder or seal the oil ways.
3, base gasket, usually paper and quite thin

hope this helps
3. roger Says: gaskets are made different ways for different things, . There is no such thing as a base gasket, And if there were and it had some copper rings that were designed to crush and seal something in , It could only be used once. So you need to buy one that is made for what you are working on. I suggest you go buy at least a shop manual for the motorbike you are working on, and then save your money and buy the gasket or the gasket kit thet you need.
4. Jerry M Says: base gasket?? where does the "base gasket" go??

2 stroke or 4 stroke?? the crankcase pressures are different, which would require a different gasket. Call the dealer, ask for recommendations.
5. JOHN Says: you can use gasket paper, most auto stores sell it.
6. Nomadd Says: I take it you mean the lower cylinder gasket. Use paper.
7. Five Times Says: Never heard of a base gasket.
