Tire Pressure, Corolla 07, (Scion Tc wheels)?

1. Andie Peach Says: I got some Scion Tc wheels for my corolla, and on the tire, it says that the "max pressure is 51 psi" and under it, it says that do not inflate past "40 psi or it will blow the tire beads"

When i bought the wheels WITH the Bridgestone tires they came with a 50 psi.

What tire pressure should i inflate it up to? I was going to stick with the factory settings that are posted on the side of the door. (31 PSI) I think that is the safest bet is it not? or is it okay to inflate it more. Responses would help.
2. James Stiller Says: Go with the factory specs. Most auto tires are rated for 35 PSI. Hot running temps will increase pressure.
3. Brent Says: it depends on the heat of the tire. if the tread is cold i would inflate to 40. if hot i would not go over 35. to low of pressure and you lose gas.
4. JBF Says: That depends. What was your Corolla's original tire size and what tire size are you using now. Without that everything is just a guess.
