How to do a proper 3 point turn?
(2011-06-14 14:25:33) 1. Says: ok so my road test in next week, and I was wondering....when doing a 3 point turn, is it better to "dry turn" the wheel (meaning that you turn the wheel all the way to the left while the car is stationary, AND THEN move, and then turn the wheel all the way to the right while the car is stationary before backing up in reverse) or is it better to turn the wheel WHILE you're making these manuevers?2. Says: Ideally you should be moving when you turn the wheels as it will screw up your tyres.you have to stop to make sure it is safe to do a 3 point turn then as you move of you turn the wheel as quickly as you can then as you are about to stop turn the wheel quickly to the other direction and do the reverse as your wheel is already turned,as you are about to stop tun the wheel again and drive off3. Says: Always avoid turning the wheel whilst stopped as this scuffs the tread from your tyres [tires] and wears them out prematurely. If you move the car slowly and THEN turn the wheel you will still complete the manoeuvre, and save money at the same time.4. Says: If it is from a stop then turn while stationary for your test.
