Nissan Altima Dimmer switch?

(2010-05-28 13:00:49)
1. John Says: I have a 1997 Nissan Altima. The dimmer switch is broken and the meter lights don't come on. I would simply like to bypass the wiring and have them on constantly.

But I don't know how to remove the dimmer switch currently in place without either breaking part of the switch( Don't want it to LOOK broken) or messing up the woodgrain with a scratch or indentation by prying with a screwdriver.

Does anyone have a Manuel that will tell me how to do it, or give me some DETAILED instructions, not a 2 sentence explanation on it.
2. John Paul Says: two thin bladed screwdrivers top and bottom the switch should pop out. Or if you can get your hand behind squeeze the plastic tabs and push out. removing the dash bezel you start way over there past the 4 way flasher there is a screw under a corner cover. screws above the spedometer and you have to remove the under cover. Just buy a new switch do not short to ground your dash lights.
