My 95 G20 Van won't go into 3rd or 4th gear?

1. James Says: It has a 4l60e Transmission and a 5.7ltr engine. It's not throwing any codes and the oil isn't burnt and no metal on the dipstick. How do I tell if it's the "B" solenoid. I haven't dropped the pan yet as I'm not sure what is wrong. I checked connectors and wires and they look alright. It has the old long plug to hook up diagnostics and doesn't seem to sense any problems. Any suggestions?

2. MasTec 1970 Says: If the SS (shift solenoid) was the case the trans would default to 3rd gear and no shift out of 3rd gear! this is a common problem in the 4L60-E trans is a broken direct clutch piston.
