Rotors siezed to hub, chevy cavalier?
(2011-06-24 14:20:15) 1. Says: I hammered for 4 hours to no avail. I have hammered it everywhere, in between the studs, the outside of the inner edge of the rotors, the outer edge of the rotors and from behind also. I have tried wd-40 and rust remover. I started with rubber mallet and then worked up to a 4lb sledge and I banged this son of a bit*h and still nothing has worked. I will not torch it. Also, there is no threaded holes for me to put bolts in to loosen it that way. Any help or tips would be great. I don't have a 3 way puller.2. Says: Sounds like you have tried about everything. The last option for this type of thing is to use a blow torch and heat it. This will loosen all the rust and gunk that has caused it to stick. This is a last resort, but I have never seen it not work.3. Says: If you cannot remove either one you are missing something. You do have the calipers off already right? I am assuming that you do but who knows on here. If so look for a little screw somewhere on the face of the rotors that you might have missed or a star washer over the lug studs. I had one on one of my cars that I missed the first time. Lastly, are you sure that the rotor and hub are not all the same assembly and that it might be held on by the wheel bearing nut? You did not provide a year so I am not sure if you have a slide on rotor or not.4. Says: I think you've answered your own question.
Go rent a 3-way puller and get that sucker off.5. Says: Heat is the only way left. Tag: Rotors siezed to hub, chevy cavalier?
