Whats the name of the thing in front of the radiator of a car.?

1. The Boss Says: It looks like a radiator but smaller in size, its where the coolant goes. For a 1998 nissan altima
2. gee-man Says: it is called the a/c condenser. The transmission cooler's are located on the inside of the radiator on most of the cars now day's .although there are some with an add on trans. cooler that is located on the front of the rad. but usually it's the a/c condenser.
3. mdk68gto, ase certified m tech Says: you only have a few things up there and only one has coolant in it. other than the radiator, you have the condenser for the ac, a trans cooler for the atf, a power steering cooler and that is it. you may have an overflow tank around there but it is a bottle and not much more.
4. salemcripple Says: The coolant goes in the radiator. What you're talking about is either a transmission cooler, or AC condesor.

Used with automatic transmissions to cool the transmission fluid.
