Scared to take the city bus, what do i do?

Sandi Yi Says: On wednesday im going to west edmonton mall to the water park and i couldn't get a ride so im going on the city bus (ETS) its my first time going alone and im 13, my friend was the same age as me as been going on the city bus alone since she was 10 and she said i would get used to it. Im not scared about the first bus i have to take, im only scared of how i have to wait at a kinda dangerous-ish place ( KINDA) and then going to west edmonton mall by myself just walking... What do i do?
P.S i cant ask the bus driver to kinda guide be because they are on tight schedules

Angee♥ Says: taking the bus is scary the first time. ive been to edmonton and rode the buses, and they are full are weird freaks. for your friend, i think its abnormal that she has been on the bus alone at 10, my mom would have never let me done that. if your on the bus make sure your next to your friend at all times, and do not talk to anybody or make direct contact at anybody. if your calm, it will be a calm trip. make sure u have a cell phone on you or anything to defend yourselves with, and you can ask the bus driver because our tax dollars go to him to give us transporation, just be real nice about it and dont get snippy with them. and maybe u should tell ur parents. if they have problem, tell them theres no other solution. if u have the money maybe take a taxi but otherwise tell ur parents because it will be better in the long run.

but tell at least one of your parents. PLEASE.
we all need to grow some wings at some point. and you will never learn if you never take the bus.
but be safe and the first time, don't go alone.
and you can ask the bus driver about his route.
say, "hey, excuse me, what time do you pick up at this stop? when is your last pick up time?
is there another route I can take.?" Bus drivers will answer your questions as long as you are not rude.
and also you can get ticket and schedule information from either online or your towns local bus depot. but 13 is young to be on your own. so take a friend and make sure you plan your trip.
