My 1996 dodge caravan only gets to 20 mph and it shouts down what can i do to fix this?

sterling Says: If it doesn't shift out of first gear, then your speed sensor probably went bad and it is running in limp mode.

Ralph 124c41 Says: The first step is to figure out what is wrong. Take the car to an auto parts store and ask them to read the OBD II system. (On Board Diagnostics) The error code should tell you what you need to fix.
